Livelihoods & Food Security
“He who does not cultivate his field will die of hunger.” — African Proverb
Our Livelihoods & Food Security Programme supports communities through nutritional community gardens, climate-smart agriculture, and the growing and distribution of food-bearing and indigenous trees.
These initiatives reduce hunger, improve health, protect the environment, and create income opportunities—while also reducing reliance on subsistence wildlife poaching and strengthening long-term community resilience.
Agriculture
Supporting food security and livelihoods through climate-smart farming, livestock production, and household and community food initiatives. By improving access to nutritious food, building practical skills, and creating income opportunities, these projects strengthen resilience, improve health, and reduce pressure on natural resources.
School Feeding Program
Providing nutritious daily meals through school feeding programs that support learning, improve attendance, and strengthen the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children.
Nutritional Literacy
When food is scarce and meat is a rare luxury, nutritional knowledge becomes essential. Our Nutritional Literacy Programme helps families understand how to meet children’s nutritional needs using locally available foods.
Infrastructure Development
A community garden not only provides nutritious food, it makes cultivation more efficient, giving women time to participate in empowerment training as well as provides extra income and decreases human/ wildlife conflict.
