Education
Education is at the heart of Jafuta Foundation’s work. Central to our programme is the Kathy Cole Education & Technology Centre, which serves as the hub of our education initiatives and a vital resource for surrounding rural communities.
The Centre functions as a fully equipped resource and learning hub, offering a library, digital innovation space, computers, and internet access—facilities that are largely unavailable in rural schools. From this base, qualified teachers provide supplementary teaching throughout the year in English, Mathematics, Sciences, and other core subjects. The programme also includes remedial support and structured holiday learning programmes to help learners catch up, consolidate knowledge, and strengthen academic confidence.
In addition to learner support, the Centre plays an important role in teacher development. Teachers from surrounding schools have access to training opportunities, learning materials, and the Centre’s resources, helping to strengthen teaching capacity and improve education outcomes across the wider community.
Development support is provided to rural schools with unsafe or insufficient infrastructure, helping to strengthen learning environments and improve their ability to better deliver education outcomes to their students.
By addressing resource gaps, strengthening learning environments, and providing consistent academic support, Jafuta Foundation’s Education Programme helps rural learners improve performance, stay engaged in school, and reach their full potential.
