Counselling & Mental Health

Mental health and emotional wellbeing are essential to individual dignity, family stability, and strong communities. In many rural areas, mental health support has traditionally been unknown or poorly understood, leaving individuals without access to care or safe spaces to seek help. Jafuta Foundation is making important inroads in changing this reality.

Our Counselling & Mental Health programme provides compassionate, confidential, and culturally sensitive support to individuals in need. Through trained counsellors and trusted referral networks, we offer safe spaces where people can share experiences, process trauma, and begin their journey toward healing and resilience. The success of this programme has led to growing acceptance, understanding, and trust around mental health support within the communities we serve.

We support individuals affected by gender-based violence, family conflict, grief, anxiety, and other psychosocial challenges. Where needed, counselling is complemented by referrals to medical, legal, or social services to ensure holistic care. By normalising conversations around mental health and demonstrating positive outcomes, Jafuta Foundation is helping to reduce stigma and build healthier, more supportive rural communities.
