Zimbabwe is flooded with talented artists and craftspeople, but too often opportunities are missed for their skill and creativity to earn them a living due to lack of exposure. At Jafuta we encourage community-based handcraft and artworks production and operate well positioned retail outlets in tourist areas to provide a market for these works of art. Our shops have proven to be a good and steady source of income to the Foundation, as well as donations from the Ndau Collection Conservation Range of jewelry sales.
In 2016 we partnered with Relate - an organisation that is a 100% not-for–profit social enterprise, founded with the vision to help the less fortunate create better lives for themselves through the making and selling of handmade bead bracelets. Their trademark ‘R’ bead on all Relate bracelets is their commitment that over 60% of their income goes to social upliftment and credible causes. This sustainable model raises awareness for various causes whilst earning income to invest in these projects. These bracelets connect people to causes close to their hearts and gives them a simple and tangible way to make a difference to local communities.

The Malcolm Ainscough Collection retail outlet at Elephant’s Walk Shopping & Artist Village in Victoria Falls is designed to provide a unique shopping experience for visitors to Africa and to promote and showcase emerging African artists. This beautifully curated luxury store not only serves as a podium from which to raise the profile of the Foundation and its work to the travelling public, but all profits are generously donated to the Foundation.
Originally set up and stocked by Malcolm Ainscough, Len Evans and Gail van Jaarsveldt in 2016, The Malcolm Ainscough Collection launch took place in New York in 2015 to promote the works and aims of the Jafuta Foundation. Malcolm and Len hosted two well attended evening functions in New York - the first being held at the prestigious New York Yacht Club and the second evening at The Explorers Club.
We recently opened our second shop at the Zambezi Crescent Collection's Victoria Falls River Lodge. The beautiful setting on the banks of the Zambezi is the perfect backdrop to our collection.
NDAU COLLECTION CONSERVATION RANGE
Victoria Falls based jewelry design studio, Ndau Collection, has joined forces with the Jafuta Foundation. Designer Christie Halsted, inspired by the majestic beauty of Africa's wildlife and the need to preserve and protect it, created the Conservation Range. Handcrafted in sterling silver, the bracelets, earrings and pendants represent 5 tribal totem animals: kudu, lion, pangolin, rhino and elephant. 20% of every sale from this range is donated to the Jafuta Foundation to assist in anti-poaching projects.
